Augustan Lineages

The Augustan Society, Inc., has amassed a large number of lineages from ancient and medievel forebears. It has been proposed that these be distributed (and monetized) by publishing them in one or more volumes under the title Augustan Lineages.

Sources of these lineges would include those published in the various periodicals, submitted in support of membership in lineage groups, and supplied as part of our genealogical data storage service.

It is proposed that these go only as far as 1950 (the date of the last US Census to be released), with credit to the individual who either drafted or submitted the lineage.

Depending on the number located, it may be prudent to group these by common ancestors, such as Charlemagne or William I. With enough lineages, it may be worth publishing multiple volumes, each "Descents from...."

This project will require an editor with knowedge of genealogy, and substantial support from Headquarters Staff to gather the lineages, especially those which exist only in the paper files.

Such an editor would be appoited by the Books Editor if there is one, or the Editor-in-Chief if not, in consultation with the Genealogy Committee Chairman. Ideally, the editor would be a member of the latter Committee, and be authorized to conscript members of that Committee to assist.
