Seal of the Corporation
The Augustan Society, Inc., being a corporation, is obliged to create a Seal of the Corporation that may be affixed to such legal documents as may be required by law, and for use in enhancing the credibility of other documents.
To this end, the Secretary is charged with keeping the Seal and seeing that it is affixed to all such documents as may need same. This duty may be delegated to an Assistant Secretary.
Current practice is to maintain two seals. One, mounted in a large seal press, is kept at Headquarters for practical use. Another, a "pocket seal", is kept in the physical posession of the Secretary as a backup.
Whenever possible, the seal shall be embossed on a gold foil star. This may be omitted where the document lacks sufficient space and the embossing must necessarily be placed upon printed information.
