Recognition of Promotion of Rank in Orders of Chivalry
As The Augustan Society, Inc., will Recognize Membership & Rank in Orders of Chivalry, and as such individuals may at times be promoted to higher ranks, it is thus necessary that there be a procedure for revising such recognitions to reflect promotions.
The primary responsibility for considering advancements in rank is delegated to Headquarters Staff, who will consider petitions for such amendmendments without requiring a specific petition form or fee.
Headquarters Staff should consult such materials as may be subitted in support of the petition, and should ask the petitioner for additional data if it is felt insufficient.
Headquarters Staff should consult with the Chivalry Committee Chairman if they have any doubts about the appropriateness of the petition, or if the petitioner fails to provide supporting documentation.
Headquarters Staff may, at their discretion, refer any such petition to the Chivalry Committee if they have any doubt that recognition is approrpriate. There will be no fee for this referral, though the Chivalry Committee may create a petition form to be used.
Once it has been decided that recognition is apropriate, Headquarters Staff will create an entry into the membership roster and inform the petitioner, the Webmaster, the Augustæum Editor, and the Chivalry Committee Chairman of the change in rank.
