The Noble Company of the Rose, a dependency of The Augustan Society, Inc., has the de facto office of Rose Assistant Chancellor. He is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Rose Chancellor. It is expected that this office will normally be held by a member of Headquarters Staff.
There are no statutory duties defined, but it is expected that this officer will be delegated most or all of the duties attached to the office of Rose Chancellor.
The presumed duties are to serve as the office staff for the Noble Company, receiving mail and email, dealing with such as he can and forwarding the rest to the appropriate officer. The Rose Assistant Chancellor may compose agendae for the Rose Council, attend meetings, and take minutes if desired. Financial matters will be handled by the Rose Assistant Receiver General.
This function was previously assigned to the Rose Administrator in 2007–2017.
