Warrant of Precedence

For a variety of purposes, it is appropriate that The Augustan Society, Inc., establish a Warrant of Precedence for it's members and others. It is defined by the Eagle Council and confirmed by the Board, save that precedence within the Order of the Augustan Eagle and the Noble Company of the Rose are set by the Eagle Council and Rose Council respectively.

The warrant:

I. Elected Officers of the Society:
1. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, when that office exists
2. The President of the Society
3. Former Chairmen, by first accession to that post
4. Former Presidents, by first accession to that post
5. The Vice-President of the Society
6. The Secretary of the Society
7. The Treasurer of the Society
8. Directors of the Society, by their current accession
9. Directors Emeritus, by date of election

II. Senior Honors:

10. Members of the Order of the Augustan Eagle, by their precedence within that Order
11. Patrons of the Society by date of award

III. Officers, Chairmen, Deans:

12. Junior Officers, by date of first election
13. Chairmen of Committees, by date of appointment
14. Deans, by date of appointment
15. Coordinators of Study Groups, by date of appointment.

IV. Fellows and Honored Members:

16. Recipients of the Dame Evelyn J.T. Metzler Award, by date of award
17. Recipients of the Cdr. George R. Balling Award, by date of first award
18. Senior Fellows of the Society, by date of first award (proposed)
19. Fellows of the Society, summa cum laude, by date of award
20. Fellows of the Society, insigne cum laude, by date of award
21. Fellows of the Society, magna cum laude, by date of award
22. Fellows of the Society, first class, by date of first award
23. Fellows of the Society, second class, by date of award
24. Fellows of the Society, third class, by date of award
