In order that The Augustan Society, Inc., understand the range of interests of the members, and to identify potention volunteers, it has been determined that a periodical Member Interest Survey should be conducted. It may be reasonable to include such a survey in new member materials so as to more quickly engage new members.

The Membership Committee, in consultation with the Editor-in-Chief will design and conduct the surveys, with assistance from Headquarters Staff as appropriate.

It is exected that the survey include questions on each of the major categories of Society activity: Chivalry, Genealogy, Heraldry, History, Royalty & Nobility, Communications, the Sub-Groups, and the varied Study Groups. Where cooperation from these groups are not forthcoming, efforts must be made to cover those areas, if only to see who might be willing to serve as Chairmen.

It has not yet been decided if such surveys should be online only, print only, or online with print backup. Headquarters Staff recommend the latter for greatst coverage at minimum cost.

The data collected should be maintained in a database available in summary to the [[Board] and Finance Committee, and in detail to the President, Dean of Studies, and in relevant part to the Chairmen, Deans, and Coordinators of the various committees, Sub-Groups, and Study Groups.

One important datum to be kept is the date on which the information was collected, as such does go stale over time.

It is expected that this page will be modified to reflect decisions made and lessons learned from each iteration of the Survey
